Is it simple to use?
- Operator is guided by plain and intuitive text messages on the
DrumWare screen.
- Complete control at a glance: the 7-segment displays and LCD
screen shows all relevant process information.
- The “Smart Keyboard” guides the operator with built-in
LEDs (one for each key) indicating valid choices at each stage
of input.
- Operator identification is achieved using non-contacting ID
cards optimized for tannery operation or by entering a secret
number.
What is the control process?
- After DrumWare has received a job from MasterWare, the formula
is processed autonomously by DrumWare, meaning that you could
switch off the MasterWare PC and still run the formula.
- TanWare is a failure tolerant system designed for large installations
without any restriction to the number of drums. Situations where
a local malfunction causes the stoppage of the entire production
process are thereby prevented.
What about process changes?
- Flexible Recorded Formula Changes At The Drum.
- If necessary, changes to the formula can be applied directly
at the DrumWare system. All changes are recorded and shown in
the process report. Only authorized personnel are allowed to perform
such changes.
- In addition to properly documenting formula changes, this feature
ensures the correct tracking of material consumption when adjustments
are made.
What functions are automatic?
- Supervision of safety barriers including gate locking.
- Control and check of up to 3 automatic drum doors.
- Drum rotation, different speeds with flexible interval functions.
- Drum positioning with adaptive (self-learning) load and brake
functions.
- Lubricating device control.
- Drum temperature adjustment including curve programming.
- Control of preparation tank functions, such as hot/cold rinsing,
stirring, temperature regulation, and feeding into drum. Slow
drum feeding can also be performed via interval programming. Up
to 2 tanks supported.
- Drainage of vessel with multiple channel support. Draining can
be performed either with rotating drum, or with stationary drum,
e.g. via channels.
- Control of hair filter including filter cleaning.
- Control of laboratory box bypass valve.
- Should the drain channel capacity be limited, an interlock mechanism
is used to prevent multiple vessels from draining simultaneously.
- Drainage is stopped by timeout, flow sensor, or load cell monitoring.
- Supervision of “drainage valve closed” status.
- Decompression valve control.
- Automatic volumetric dosing of chemicals via ChemWare / Volumetric.
- Dosing of water at predetermined temperature into the vessel.
DrumWare communicates with AquaWare to request the desired temperature
and volume.
- DrumWare requests chemicals from ChemWare and ScaleWare.
- Automatic temperature measurement.
- Automatic measurement of pH values with individual sensor or
central pH measurement station MeasureWare pH.
- Load cells can be connected to check weight, monitor additions,
and to halt draining with an exact amount of float left.
- CO2 addition either directly by time or via ChemWare/Volumetric
by volume even with flow regulation.
- Exact control of all processing times.
What functions are manual?
- Machine calls operator to perform checkpoints.
- Manual input of measured values for process reports (e.g. Be
or pH value).
- Validation procedures. A validation is a special checkpoint
where the operator is forced to answer a question. This prevents
oversights and mistakes, which might otherwise result from a simple
confirmation mechanism.
- Acknowledgement of manual additions of chemicals.
Can I record process parameters?
- Anything that maintains consistent quality is recorded, including:
- Operator ID.
- Time.
- Manual operating steps.
- Changes applied to the formula (an important feature that few
competitors offer)
- Measurement readings, such as temperature, pH, Be, etc.
