What is it – a scale?
ScaleWare is a computer-aided manual weighing system for the manual
dosing of powders and solids. The main purpose of ScaleWare is to
ensure that all manual weighing is performed within a defined tolerance
margin.
How does it work?
ScaleWare consists of a high-quality electronic scale connected
to a process computer via serial interface. The computer itself
is connected to the TanWare network. ScaleWare receives weighing
specifications directly from the formula running on DrumWare. It
forwards these instructions to the operator via LCD screen, who
then weighs solids manually to make the requested mix.
How does it prevent weighing mistakes?
ScaleWare monitors the weighing step by step and gives a green
light to the operator only if the weight of each measured component
is within the allowed tolerance. ScaleWare effectively prevents
mistakes in the manual preparation of mixtures. This is recognised
as one of the most uncontrolled operation in the tannery resulting
in much waste and inconsistency.
What if my operators are careless?
ScaleWare tracks operator ID, time, job number, and weighing precision
and records this data for later evaluation. ScaleWare offers an
almost instant return on investment, by improving quality and reducing
chemical waste.
